I’m Amber Smith a South African stewardess with over three years of experience on private and charter superyachts across the Mediterranean, working on vessels between 43 and 55 metres.
I’m originally from Cape Town and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Development and the Environment from Stellenbosch University.
Most recently I embarked on an adventure In which I completed a research internship at the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation. Off the boat, I’m passionate about the environment and marine conservation.
Now I am back in the industry and excited to have a lovely summer. I take real pride in delivering warm, attentive service where guests feel genuinely looked after without ever feeling managed.

After 10 years in the hospitality industry , my passion for guest service and travel brought me to the yachting industry.
I’ve been working on board busy charter vessels for the past 5 years , giving my best at keeping high standards to make the guest experience memorable.
I speak English, French , Italian and Spanish . I’ll be on board serving you a delicious meal and a classy glass of wine, but also providing my concierge services for you to experience the Mediterranean at its best.
When off board, I enjoy yoga , Pilates , studying foreign languages and definitely a sunset aperitivo.

Following my graduation from a catering school I did few seasons in brasserie restaurants, and quickly after that, in 2006, I have decided to explore the world and to improve my cooking style. Worked in sydney at Aria restaurant owned by Matt Moran
and Astral restaurant (restaurant of the year). Three years later I came back to France and worked for akhara chay in different relais et château hostel. My love for the exploration led me to the yachting industry, to travel around the world (Antarctica, artic, Japon...) on la compagnie du ponant, to end up here for your enjoyment.
